Converted to the Drury Plaza Hotel in 2007 the building was the 2nd home of the Alamo National Bank opened in 1929 just months before the stock market crash that marked the beginning of the Great Depression. Of special note is Ben Milam Building, Petroleum Commerce Building (Drury Inn), Gunter Hotel, Aztec Theater, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and even the Chinese Restaurant Building in the background as well as the shadow of the Tower Life Building in the foreground.
